Publication & Dissemination of Research Results

Objectives:  The publication and dissemination of research results by workshop organization, website development, participation in international conferences and presentation of project results. Also, the possibility of corresponding patents filing will be investigated.

 

Task 6.1: Web site development

The project results will be published in a dedicated website which will be updated at regular intervals. The site will be hosted on NTUA's servers free of charge (according to NTUA's current policy). Therefore, the cost is limited to the cost of personnel required for planning, commissioning and maintenance of the website.

Task 5.2: Workshop Organization

Project's interim results, as well as new ideas and trends will be discussed at a workshop which is planned to be held at the end of the second / early in the third year coinciding with the scale-experiments time-frame. An international expert will be invited to participate at the workshop presenting the technological developments in the area. It is estimated that there will be 50 participants at the workshop, including representatives from relevant ministries, the Technical Chamber of Greece, as well as representatives from industry bodies active in the area. A corresponding poster and printed material will be prepared for workshop's needs.

Task 5.3: Participation in international conferences, workshop meetings, and international journal publications

The project results will be presented at international scientific forums. These results will be presented as papers at international conferences and / or published in scientific journals.The number of estimated publications in conferences is 7: 6 in Europe and 1 outside Europe. The cost of conference attendance is detailed in the budget section. Furthermore, it is estimated that the project outcome will also include at least one article publication in a scientific journal. The project results will also be disseminated through two (2) information-exchange meetings with research institutes abroad which will be attended by the PI.

An indicative list of proposed international conferences includes: Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering Conference (OMAE), International Offshore and Polar Engineering Symposium (ISOPE), European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC), International Workshop on Water Waves and Floating Bodies (IWWWFB).

An indicative list of suitable scientific journals for project results publication includes: Marine Structures, Ocean Engineering, Renewable Energy Generation, Applied Ocean Research, Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment.
